Supported IPTV devices

Asgard IPTV runs on the six device types most households already own. No new hardware required. Pick your device, install a player app, enter your connection details, and you are watching.

Six device types, one subscription

Every plan includes access across all of these platforms. There are no extra fees for device support.

Smart TV

Smart TVs running Tizen OS, webOS or Android TV work with Asgard IPTV through a player app. Install the app from your TV's app store, enter the M3U URL or portal address you receive on activation, and you are live on the big screen.

Android

Phones, tablets and Android TV boxes all run IPTV player apps. Apps install from the Google Play Store. An Android TV box connects to your television via HDMI and acts as a dedicated streaming device for the whole room.

iPhone & iPad

iOS and iPadOS support IPTV player apps available in the App Store. Your iPhone puts live TV and sport in your pocket wherever you go. The iPad screen is large enough to serve as a proper secondary screen at the kitchen table or on the road.

Amazon Fire TV / Firestick

Fire TV devices plug into any TV via HDMI. IPTV player apps install from the Amazon Appstore, or you can sideload an app if it is not listed there. A practical choice for anyone who wants a dedicated streaming device without replacing the TV itself.

MAG box

MAG boxes are dedicated IPTV devices running Linux-based firmware. They connect via Ethernet or Wi-Fi and pull content through a portal URL. Configuration means entering the portal address in the settings menu. No separate app needed.

PC & Mac

Windows and macOS both support IPTV through player software such as VLC or similar programs that accept M3U playlists. Download the software, point it at your M3U URL, and live TV opens in a window. Straightforward for anyone who already works at a desk.

Use multiple devices at once

Your subscription ties to your account, not to a single piece of hardware. That means you can set up Asgard IPTV on the living-room TV, on your phone, and on a tablet without paying separately for each one.

Every plan includes 1 concurrent stream. You can register as many devices as you like, but you can only watch on one screen at a time. See the pricing page for what else is included.

What kind of app do you need?

Asgard IPTV uses industry-standard formats: M3U playlists and Xtream Codes. Any IPTV player app that handles those formats will work with the service. You are not locked to a single application.

Several player apps run across more than one platform, so you can keep the same interface on your TV and your phone. VLC is the most familiar option for PC and Mac, and it handles M3U files with no extra configuration.

Which app fits best depends on your device. The setup guide gives platform-specific recommendations for each of the six device types, so you do not have to hunt around.

What the player app needs from you

  • Your M3U URL or Xtream Codes login details (provided on account activation)
  • An EPG address for the electronic programme guide (optional, but useful)
  • An active internet connection with adequate bandwidth for the stream quality you want
  • Permission to install apps from unknown sources on Android, if your chosen app is not in the Play Store

Not sure about the setup? Contact us through live chat and we will walk you through it in a few minutes.

How much internet speed do you need?

IPTV streaming is not heavy on bandwidth. Most standard broadband connections are adequate. Here are the general ranges:

SD stream

Standard definition

An SD stream typically uses 3–5 Mbps download. Works on most mobile connections and older broadband lines.

HD stream

Full HD (1080p)

HD channels generally need 8–15 Mbps stable download. A home connection of 25 Mbps or more gives a comfortable buffer against brief speed drops.

4K stream

4K Ultra HD

4K streams can use 25–50 Mbps per channel. For 4K you want a stable fibre connection, ideally delivered via wired Ethernet directly to the TV or streaming box.

Wired vs. Wi-Fi

An Ethernet cable gives the most stable connection and is the right choice for HD and 4K streams on a TV or streaming box. On Wi-Fi, use the 5 GHz band if your router supports it — it handles higher bandwidth better than 2.4 GHz at short range and is less prone to interference from neighbouring networks.

Device and compatibility questions

The questions we hear most often about device support. If yours is not here, check the full FAQ page or send us a message in the chat.

Does Asgard IPTV work on all Smart TVs?

Asgard IPTV works on Smart TVs running Tizen OS, webOS or Android TV, provided the TV supports a compatible IPTV player app. Most modern Smart TVs produced after 2017 meet that requirement. Older models may lack app support and might need an external streaming box instead.

Do I need to buy new hardware to use the service?

Probably not. A Smart TV, Android device, iPhone, iPad, Amazon Fire TV device or a PC is all you need. A MAG box is one of the six supported options, but it is an additional purchase rather than a requirement.

Can I use the same account on more than one TV?

The account is not tied to a single device. You can register as many devices as you like, but you can only stream on one at a time — 1 concurrent stream per subscription. The plan overview has the full details.

What should I do if the picture stutters or freezes?

Stuttering is almost always caused by an unstable internet connection rather than the IPTV service itself. Try connecting your TV or streaming box to the router with an Ethernet cable, or move closer to the router if you are on Wi-Fi. Check that no other device on the network is consuming large amounts of bandwidth at the same time. If the problem continues, contact us in the live chat.

Which apps are recommended for an Android TV box?

Several IPTV player apps for Android TV support M3U format and Xtream Codes. The best fit depends on your preference for interface layout and EPG handling. The setup guide gives specific recommendations per device, so you do not need to test your way through the options yourself.
